The rain came without warning. He didn’t have an umbrella and was walking awkwardly down the empty street late at night.
It was freezing. He shivered.
Then he saw a small, shabby inn. He was used to staying in five-star hotels and would normally never even glance at a place like this. But now, it felt like salvation.
The innkeeper was just about to close the door when he rushed forward.
“Sir, could I stay here for the night?”
The young innkeeper looked at him in surprise, soaking wet from head to toe.
“Of course. I didn’t think anyone would come out in such cold and heavy rain. Come in quickly.”
He stepped inside.
As the innkeeper handed him a room key, he looked him over and said, “I think what you need most right now is a hot shower and dry clothes. There’s hot water from the tap, and dry clothes in the closet.”
The room was simple but clean and tidy.
He couldn’t wait to peel off his soaked, cold clothes, take a hot shower, and change into the dry ones. Instantly, he felt warm and comfortable.
But then his stomach growled—he realized he hadn’t had dinner.
Just then, there was a knock at the door. When he opened it, a delicious aroma hit him.
The innkeeper stood outside with a steaming bowl of beef noodles in his hands.
“I figured this is what you needed most right now.”
He devoured the noodles hungrily.
That night, he had the most peaceful and restful sleep—more than he’d ever had at a five-star hotel.
The next morning, before leaving, he said to the innkeeper, “Thank you. It’s like you knew exactly what I needed.”
“Of course!” the young man replied proudly. “Not to brag, but I have a knack for knowing what guests need. I inherited this inn from my father. Maybe it’s a gift. My dream is to open inns all over the world—though I’m short on funding for now. But I will, one day.”
“It takes more than talent—you have warmth and passion. I believe you’ll make it.”
A few days later, the innkeeper received a massive investment offer—someone wanted to invest in his inn business.
Only then did he realize: the guest from that rainy night was actually a major investor.
