Lily secretly had a crush on her colleague, Lucas, but she didn’t know if he felt the same way, so she kept her feelings hidden deep inside.
One day, unexpectedly, Lucas confessed his love to her.
Lily was overjoyed, and the two quickly fell into a passionate romance.
But not long after, bad news struck — she was fired. The reason: her supervisor had made a serious mistake, and someone had to take the fall. Unfortunately, that unlucky scapegoat was her.
No one spoke up for her — not even Lucas.
But she understood. After all, no one dared to go against the supervisor.
Lily packed her belongings and left the company dormitory. With nowhere to go, she decided to return home and rest for a while.
When she went to the company to complete her exit procedures, she told Lucas what time her train would leave that evening, hoping he would come to see her off.
Unexpectedly, Lucas seemed distracted and gave her an ambiguous response.
That night, Lily dragged her suitcase into the station alone. She stared intently at the entrance. But even as the boarding time approached, there was still no sign of Lucas.
She sighed in disappointment. She hadn’t expected their love to falter so easily. Just because she was fired, he didn’t want to be with her anymore?
But Lily was an optimistic person. She told herself: At least I got to see his true colors in time.
She was about to head toward the gate with her suitcase when someone suddenly called out her name.
It was Lucas.
“You… why are you here?”
“You’re leaving tonight — how could I not come?”
“But you seemed so indifferent at the company today.”
“I was rushing to write my resignation letter. I wanted to leave with you!”
Lily was stunned, then chided him playfully, “You shouldn’t be so impulsive.”
“With a supervisor like that, it was only a matter of time before I quit!”
“But now there aren’t any tickets left.”
“We don’t need tickets anymore…”
He took her train ticket and tore it up.
“You—”
“When I handed in my resignation, the boss happened to be there. He found out the whole story, fired the supervisor immediately, asked me to withdraw my resignation — and told you to come back to work too.”
