In the Xue Ji Café, Sun Wukong and Zhu Yinen were shocked to the point their jaws nearly dropped when they encountered Officer Niu and Princess Iron Fan and learned that they were a couple.
Sun Wukong said, “I never would have guessed that my sister-in-law is Princess Iron Fan. Officer Niu, last time there was a wildfire, we needed Princess Iron Fan’s Plantain fan to put it out. If you had just mentioned it to your wife, it would have saved me from having to borrow it three times.”
The couple remained silent.
Zhu Yinen remarked, “It’s obvious they’ve had a fight.”
“A fight? Why? Tell us, and we’ll help you sort it out.”
Officer Niu huffed, “She groundlessly accuses me, saying that… I’ve been keeping a vixen outside and won’t let me come home!”
“Groundlessly? I have proof!” Princess Iron Fan retorted.
Zhu Yinen murmured, “I never thought you were that kind of person, Officer Niu… So who is this vixen?”
Princess Iron Fan sneered, “You all know her.”
Zhu Yinen’s curiosity grew, “Who?”
“She’s far away yet right in front of you.”
“Who? Just tell us! It’s killing me.”
“It’s the owner of this café!”
“The owner of this café? The nine-tailed fox spirit Xue Ji? You must be mistaken. Xue Ji is a real fox spirit, not that kind of vixen.”
“She’s both a real fox spirit and that kind of vixen.”
“What’s your basis for saying that?”
“I have proof. Call her over to confront us.”
Officer Niu immediately objected, “No calling her! I promised her… Stop making a scene!”
Princess Iron Fan sneered, “See how he protects the vixen.”
At that moment, they heard the sound of a cup falling to the ground.
They turned to see Xue Ji. She had been bringing coffee over and happened to hear the conversation.
