Part 2: Is She the Culprit?

Chief Bull couldn’t believe that so many men were willing to testify on behalf of the Nine-Tailed Fox Demon.

Shocked and surprised, he stammered as he pointed at them, “You… you all… Are you all testifying for her just because she’s pretty? You know that lying in court is a crime, right? Men, arrest Xueji immediately!”

Several people suddenly rushed toward Xueji, quickly and efficiently capturing her and twisting her arms behind her back.

It turned out that there were already many undercover officers planted in the shop.

Xueji struggled desperately, crying, while everyone around started to gossip.

At this moment, Zhu Yinen said, “Chief Bull, I can also testify for Xueji. I was here having coffee at nine o’clock last night too.”

“You? Even less trustworthy! Everyone knows you’re not only a glutton but also a womanizer!”

Chief Bull said disdainfully.

“How dare you slander me like that? Just because I love food, you call me a glutton? Just because I like looking at pretty women, you call me a womanizer? What kind of person doesn’t eat? What kind of man doesn’t look at beautiful women?”

Zhu Yinen retorted.

“I don’t have time to argue with you!”

Chief Bull replied impatiently.

“Then let’s get back to the point. If you don’t believe me, saying my words are just empty claims, I have evidence,” Zhu Yinen said as he pulled out his phone. “I took a photo last night and posted it on social media. Look, Xueji is in the background of the photo.”

Chief Bull took a look and saw that Xueji was indeed captured in the background of the photo.

“This only proves you posted the photo last night. Who knows when it was actually taken?”

“You’re really suspicious,” Zhu Yinen said as he opened his photo album. “Here’s the original photo on my phone. The time stamp matches around nine o’clock, doesn’t it?”

Chief Bull looked at it and saw that the time was indeed correct, but he was still skeptical.

“Who knows if you tampered with the timestamp?”

At this point, Sun Wukong suddenly interjected, “I think Yinen is telling the truth. Look at the clock in the photo. The time on the clock matches the timestamp on his phone. If he was faking it, my junior wouldn’t be clever enough to notice such a detail.”

Zhu Yinen, displeased, said, “What do you mean by that? Are you implying I’m stupid?”

Chief Bull breathed a sigh of relief and said, “I thought so. I’ve noticed that detail as well. Wukong, you and I think alike.”

He then waved to his subordinates, “Release her, let her go.”

Zhu Yinen muttered, “Hindsight is 20/20,” and quickly ran over to comfort Xueji.
